E –DEFECT TRACKER SYSTEM



Abstract & Synopsis
Aim:  
             E- Defect tracker is designed for tracking out the bugs in the software product, assign bugs to team members, generate bug reports send email messages between users, attach files, and customize their accounts according to their needs. When a project becomes more large and complex a formal method for tracking out a bug is necessary. Therefore an application for the bug tracking is needed
The roles maintained in this application are
      • Administrator
      • Project manager
      • Team leader
      • Developer
Depending on the functions of these roles the workflow and modules are maintained. Administrator maintains the details of projects and employees.
                    Project Manager deals with the bug and assigns the complaint to appropriate team leader or the developer. User views the status of the projects and their lower categories projects.
                      Various reports are generated during report period. Reports are generated by bug wise, project wise, team wise and individual person performance.
Monthly and weekly reports also generated.

MODULE DESCRIPTION

2.     Admin

1. User

            This Module contains the user details of the all departments. It
             Store the details of name, password, email, permission and                                                                          
                         Bug information. Also set the information about email notification
                         Setting.

      

2. Projects


                 It maintains the project id, project name, default users of the project, permission, and user mail id etc. project module itself we are assigning projects to the user.


3.      Category


Here we can add the category of the project and decide to allot the project to the default user or any other user.

4. Priority

             Priority also set to every project depends upon the priority projects are allotted to the user. Different colors are used to separate the priority.

4.      Status

             It contains different status of the projects. We can add the different status.

5. Bugs
             In this module we can add and edit the bugs. Bug consists of id, description, projects, Category, reported by, priority, status etc.


6. Print details
            
              It give the description of the selected project .we can imports this into excel form.


 7. Permission setting
                
               It contains four permission none, view bugs, reports, edit and delete. we provide the permission depends on the position.

8. Reports
              
                  Various reports are generated by the admin .report by user, report by category, by status and by month, by year and Priority.


3. User

                                                In User module each and every user of this E Defect Tracker can                                                                                                  use                                           use the My Schedule form to enter their schedules which was
                                                Assigned to them. Later users can view their schedules in   v

                                    The programmer has to give the status of the given task                                                  at the end of the day.


4. Mailing


Mailing   

                                                 In mailing module the each and every user can send   
                                                 Message to other programmers personally to share
                                                 And discuss their work.
